Different forging methods have different processes, with hot die forging having the longest process, generally in the following order: blank preparation; blank heating; roll forging; die forging; trimming; punching; straightening; intermediate inspection, checking the dimensions and surface defects of the forging; heat treatment, used to eliminate forging stress and improve machinability; cleaning, mainly to remove surface scale; straightening; inspection, generally forgings undergo appearance and hardness checks, and important forgings also undergo chemical composition analysis, mechanical properties, residual stress tests, and non-destructive testing.
