Rollers are broadly categorized into three major types: (support rolls, work rolls, and intermediate rolls). Their specifications range from an outer diameter of φ120 mm to φ1000 mm and a length of up to 6000 mm. The roller billets are heated uniformly in gas-fired furnaces, and after forging, they undergo rigorous processes including hydrogen diffusion, normalizing followed by spheroidizing annealing. Upon removal from the furnace, each roller is subjected to strict high- and low-magnification inspections and only delivered after passing surface flaw detection tests. Cold-rolled rollers are used for rolling sheet metal, supporting and working rolls for strip steel, as well as rolls for section steel and straightening rolls.
